International Blockchain Congress Kicks Off Six-Month Hackathon, Genesis Hack

While cryptocurrency regulations hang in balance, it has not stopped the blockchain community in India from going forth and exploring how the technology can be utilized to the best of its ability. Keeping that in mind, the International Blockchain Congress (IBC) kickstarted a six-month intensive online and offline hackathon called Genesis Hack.If readers may recollect, IBC was instrumental in organizing one of the biggest blockchain congress in India in August, in collaboration with the Governments of Telangana, Goa and blockchain company Nucleus Vision.The hackathon while organized by IBC, will see hosts from companies such as Nucleus Vision and Eleven01 in partnership with SpringRole, Murmur, XDAT, Nasscomm and Host.Games.The hackathon which kicked off on November 21, encourages and incentivises the developer community in India to engage the blockchain technology. IBC Media officially kickstarted the hackathon at a press conference organised at the 10k NASSCOM Startup Warehouse in Bengaluru, India.The who’s who at the event included, Abhishek Pitti , the Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of Nucleus Vision, Avinash Pitti , CTO of Nucleus Vision, Anand Hariharan , Head of Product at HackerEarth, Ankur Mehta ,  Head of Community Partnerships and Alliances at Eleven01, Vivek K,  Business Development at SpringRole, Abhinav Ramesh  the Founder of Murmur, and Raghu Mohan,  CEO of IBC Media.Speaking on the need for the hackathon, Abhishek Pitti, said, “There is a big talent gap in blockchain and given India’s existing engineering talent pool, we can very easily become a thriving blockchain developer ecosystem. Genesis Hack, the world’s biggest blockchain hackathon, will ensure this happens in the coming years.”The event was presided by Mohan as he kickstarted the event by introducing the agenda and the scope of the hackathon. Talking about the event, Abhinav Ramesh said, “Genesis Hack is a stage that provides the developer community of India wider opportunities and tools to build globally applicable blockchain-based solutions.”Liked what you read?
