Craig Wright Loses Court Case Against Estate Of David Kleiman

28 Aug 2019

Seems like the battle between self-styled Satoshi Nakamoto, Craig Wright and the rest of the bitcoin community is drawing to a close. On Monday, a judge ordered Wright to turn over half his bitcoin holdings and intellectual property to the estate of Dave Kleiman. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart said that plaintiffs be awarded 50 percent of the bitcoin that Wright held prior to Dec. 31, 2013, as well as 50 percent of the intellectual property that Wright owned prior to Dec. 31, 2013, news portal CoinDesk reported. As has been earlier reported, the order was brought about when the estate of computer scientist, David Kleiman filed a case against Wright, accusing the latter of stealing hundreds of thousands of BTC, which were more than $5 billion dollars in February last year. This news comes as respite after we reported in July this year that Wright may have submitted falsified documents.A trial court lawyer, Stephen Palley, had provided proof of Wright’s alleged duplicity on Twitter.According to Palley, the documents that Wright has submitted to the court proving his Nakamoto identity are fake due to various chronological discrepancies. News portal Coin Telegraph reported that among the documents submitted as proof, there is one document that serves as proof of cooperation between Wright and the now-deceased David Kleiman, whose lawyers filed the case against Wright in February 2018.Earlier this month, Wright had attempted to squash the case against him. At the time, US District Judge Beth Bloom ruled Thursday that the federal court in Florida has jurisdiction over the case, contrary to what Wright assumed.Wright had requested the court to not force him to make an appearance. Judge Beth Bloom, said, at the time, “Personal appearance by the parties will promote meaningful participation at mediation.”Liked what you read? Join us on Telegram
