Opera To Release Blockchain Browser For IOS

17 Jul 2019

Internet browser, Opera has taken some significant strides in the blockchain field. While other browsers tread a non-crypto/blockchain line, Opera did the opposite and went all guns blazing. In December last year, we had reported that Opera had launched its first blockchain browser and embedded cryptocurrency wallet for android devices. At the time, Krystian Kolondra, EVP Browsers at Opera had said, “We are empowering Android smartphone users with an innovative browser that gives them the opportunity to experience Web 3 in a seamless way. would like to invite all tech enthusiast who may have heard of blockchain but haven’t yet experienced it to simply give our new browser and Web 3 a try. We have made it extremely easy. Our hope is that this step will accelerate the transition of cryptocurrencies from speculation and investment to being used for actual payments and transactions in our users’ daily lives.”Now, it appears that the company is releasing a blockchain browser for its iOS users. The product is developed to meet the increasing demands from the Ethereum community that works primarily on iOS.A release from the browser stated that the Opera Touch for iOS with Crypto Wallet, like the Opera browser for Android, supports the Ethereum Web3 API, making interacting with dApps seamless, without the need for browser extensions.Apart from that, the browser said, “With built-in Crypto Wallet, the browser has the potential to renew and extend its important role as a tool to access information, make transactions online and manage users’ online identities in a way that gives them more control.”The browser has launched something known as Marble Cards, which would be akin to non fungible tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. This means if a user finds a potentially interesting URL and turns it into a Marble card, the user will be able to play with it, trade it or sell it.Liked what you read?
