Japanese Bitcoin Exchange— BitFlyer Launches New Bitcoin Trading Service For European Market

BitFlyer a highly controversial Japanese bitcoin exchange has announced the launch of a new bitcoin trading service for EU (European Union) market with no fees.

Suspension of Service for Japan-based Clients

Last year, BitFlyer announced the suspension of service for new Japanese clients. This is as a result of the growing concern of the Japanese regulator as regards the exchange’s  Anti-Money laundering and know-your-customer procedures.

About six different exchanges were told yo halt opening account for Japanese by the country’s FCA/Financial Service Agency. However, earlier this month, bitFlyer announced resuming of account opening for Japanese users.

Not up to a month since resuming account opening, the exchange has commenced provision of service for the EU market.

Reportedly, the EU market-focused services is a simple bitcoin trading service, targeting users to access to a simple way of buying and selling bitcoin. According to the platform “, anyone can buy and sell cryptocurrencies without the complexity and limitations of advanced platforms.”

The exchange made a tweet regarding this latest development.

The tweet reads:

Boasting on how fast and transparent it service is, compared to others, the exchange said:

As regards licencing, the exchange claims that it is a licensed financial institution operating in Europe, Japan, and the United States. However, while registering there is a warning which prevents users resident in the U.S from registering on its platform.

Reportedly, users of bitFlyer Europe can exchange bitcoin for euros with a maximum of 20 BTC per transactions.
