When it comes to Bitcoin, there are few prominent voices who support it wholeheartedly. Tim Draper is also one of them. He is known in the community for his bullish Bitcoin price forecasts, and since he is a third generation venture capitalist his views are paid serious attention by everyone. He is also taken seriously because he has already made his millions from Bitcoin, as he had invested in them 5 yrs back. So whenever he speaks, everyone hears. And this time he is saying something about the future of payments at Starbucks.Yep. According to Draper in 3 years from now if you make a payment at Starbucks in cash, they will be laughing at you. And that won’t be the case because of credit/debit card payments, but because of crypto-based payments. He made these comments while speaking during a podcast interviewpodcast interview. He said:“I think when you go to Starbucks to buy a cup of coffee, and you try to pay with dollars, they will laugh at you because you are not using bitcoin or other cryptocurrency. They’ll laugh at you – it will be like the old lady paying out with pennies.”When asked how will people use Bitcoin in everyday life if it’s valued at $250,000, he said:“Is that a problem? That’s a temporary problem. There is a market for bitcoin right now. People are buying and selling bitcoin, and they are buying and selling things and services with bitcoin. As it spreads, it will go up in value. And it is spreading.”Three years from now means 2022. And it seems that 2022 has a special place in Draper’s life, as his $250,000 price forecast for Bitcoin is also for the same year. It will be interesting to see how many of these predictions come true, but even if they come true halfway of the mark then it will be very important for the community.Interestingly, Starbucks is also a partner in the development of NYSE’s Bakkt crypto exchange platform. Due to this partnership there have also been reports in media that the company may start accepting Bitcoins for payment after Bakkt is live. Let’s see whether that happens or not, and how long it takes to happen after the launch of Bakkt.
