Google Keyboard Enables Bitcoin’s Ƀ Symbol On IOS Devices

21 Feb 2019

As cryptocurrencies likely to be the future mainstream currency of the world and Bitcoin leading that race, web giant Google is also moving forward in the same line.In its latest move, Google has enabled the Bitcoin’s Ƀ symbol on keyboards for iOS mobile devices. This step by Google is being considered by many as the web giant’s second step towards considering Bitcoin as a mainstream currency. It is to be noted that Apple till now has not yet officially enabled the Bitcoin’s symbol to all its devices. In order to insert the Bitcoin symbol, Apple users have to ensure they are using the Google keyboard, not the default Apple one. The user needs to long press the dollar symbol, then many currency symbols will pop up and the Bitcoin symbol is located on the far left.It is a major endorsement by the web giant towards cryptocurrencies and will further help in dramatically increase the Bitcoin’s rate of adoption. It has also lifted the ban of crypto advertising recently which is a warming step towards the crypto industry. The Bitcoin currency unit has been part of Unicode standard, version 10, since June 2017 and the Unicode charter assigned to Bitcoin is 20BF. Which means, in any Microsoft product, if you type 20BF plus ALT, then the Bitcoin’s symbol will be inserted.Join the Discussion on Telegram
