New Multiplayer VR Arcade Debuts At Bally’s Las Vegas

17 Jan 2019

Three new location-based VR experiences now available at the luxurious Las Vegas hotel & casino.

The entertainment capital of the world already boasts the MSG Sphere and the world’s longest VR roller coaster, but with the addition of a PlatformaVR arcade later this month, Las Vegas is on track to becoming populated with “virtually” everything in the entertainment sector.

In partnership with Caesars Entertainment, the Russian location-based entertainment (LBE) company is crossing the Atlantic to make its American debut at the Avenue Shoppes located within Bally’s Las Vegas. This accessible VR arcade is creating an immersive gaming experience revolutionizing the way we look at our many options for entertainment.

This arcade is a great and timely attraction to the Las Vegas Strip scene, just in time for the world’s biggest tech expo held at the World Trade Center Las Vegas, Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

PlatformaVR offers us players the choice to “choose your hero” and ultimately customize our VR challenges unique to what we’re feeling up to tackle. Puzzle-solvers and active adventurers alike will enjoy collaborating – or battling – with one another throughout three different adventures: The Arrival, a story play of space travellers at an abandoned space station; The Poisoner, an intense and mysterious murder investigation; and MATCH, a realistic combat PvP game that will keep your adrenaline pulsating.

PlatformaVR CEO Ilya Kuzyuk said, “We are thrilled to bring our virtual reality experience to Las Vegas, one of the world’s most famous entertainment destinations. PlatformaVR offers fully immersive and smart content filled with social interaction.”

Today, free-roaming location-based VR experiences are the most immersive type of VR allowing users to walk free in the virtual world and use their real bodies as virtual ones thanks to the full-body tracking. PlatformaVR uses the most advanced technologies and equipment including SteamVR Tracking 2.0 by Valve and VR-ready PC backpacks by HP, which serve for the best free-roaming experience.

“PlatformaVR’s effort to build an industry standard for the free-roam LBVR market is commendable. While content management solutions exist for room scale, they don’t exist today for free-roam virtual reality experiences, and free-roam experiences are some of the most compelling to consumers. We look forward to providing best-in-class equipment including HP Z2 VR Backpack PCs and HP Omen X Desktop VR Backpacks to support the PlatformaVR solution.” – says Joanna Popper, Global Head of Virtual Reality for Location Based Entertainment of HP.

From Mondays to Thursdays, one-hour sessions are being promoted at rates of $45 for two players and $90 for four players. However, prices jump on the weekends to $90 per pair and $120 per foursome.

The company plans to open two more locations in Las Vegas (the USA) and London (the UK) in Q1 2019.
